Adopting is the best thing you can do. But if you can’t adopt, there are other ways to help these dogs find a home.
The Best Help: Adopt
You’re near Šabac? The shelter needs people more than anything else.
Volunteer
Feed dogs. Walk them. Help with photos, profile information, and visits. The animal care at the shelter depends on people who show up on their own time.
Foster
Take a dog home temporarily. Frightened dogs recover in a house, not behind a fence. And every fostered dog frees space – a full shelter means the next stray has nowhere to go.
Adopt
The most direct help: come to the shelter, meet a dog, take them home. The dogs are ready – vaccinated, sterilised, waiting.
Where the Money Goes
All donations go through Strays e.V. (registered charity, Berlin). Strays e.V. is run entirely by volunteers. Donations go to the shelter – food, vet bills, sterilisation.
~€10 – Food for One Dog, One Week
Around €10 keeps one dog fed for a week while they wait for a home.
~€50 – Vaccination for One Dog
Around €50 covers the vaccination course. A vaccinated dog is ready to go home.
~€65 – Sterilisation for One Dog
Around €65 covers sterilisation – required before any dog can be adopted. Every sterilised dog is one step closer to a home.
Strays e.V. is a registered charity (Finanzamt Köln-Süd, Germany). Donation receipts are issued on request – include your address in the transfer reference.
Sponsor a Dog
Interested in covering one dog’s costs until they find a home?
Want to cover food and medical care for one specific dog until they find a home? Get in touch – we can arrange that.
There is no government programme coming. No wealthy donor waiting in the wings. The shelter exists because a handful of people decided these dogs matter. If they stop, it’s over.
